Joey Nicholson - Worship Leader and Recording Artist

 Joey Nicholson

Gainesville, GA) We are blessed this year to have Rev. Joey Nicholson leading the Nehemiah Festival during the Saturday morning worship gathering.  Joey is annointed songwriter and worship leader.

Having received recognition as the 2005 KCCM "Male Vocalist of the Year", Joey has been multiple KCCM and Indieheaven Momentum Award nominations for "Worship Artist of the Year" and many other categories.

The music of IndieHeaven artist Joey Nicholson is for all people, and is both encouraging and uplifting. Joey Nicholson is on a mission to bring others closer to God. “You know, we all go through tough times in life,” he says, “ and I’ve decided that no matter what happens or how I feel, I’m determined to worship Jesus.”

Worship Leader Magazine calls Joey Nicholson’s original music CD, “I Know You Will”, both “intimate and annointed.”

Joey’s ministry, which is located in Gainesville, has led him to playing music in churches, in concerts and on mission trips. From singing at the largest church in the country to ministering to people of many nations, Joey feels called to help others get closer to God through music.

Always being the musician, Joey gave his abilities to the Lord in 1986. For two years he sought only the Lord. Then in 1989 the Lord gave Joey the "call" to again use his talents. For the last 10 years, Joey has used his gifts for the Lord's service in music and worship ministry. Joey, an ordained minister, has served locally and internationally as staff music pastor, worship leader, and street music evangelist.

"Rev. Joey Nicholson delivers acoustic driven worship music with poppy catchy songs and a style reminiscent of another independent worship leader, Roger Hodges.  Vocally the best way to describe Nicholson's voice is to bring to mind Martyn Joseph and then imagine him leading worship!  Joey pens his own songs and creating worship that is intimate, passionate and courageous, 'I Know You Will' has some lovely moments.  'Amen, Halleluhah'  is a beautiful ballad and the title track is a gorgeous worship song with plenty of vibey organ.  One element that really adds to the overall feel of the album is the sax playing of the anointed Clint Baughman whose contributions litter the album and create real emotion.  Overall a worship album that avoids hype and sugar sweetness and instead concentrates on leading the listener closer to Jesus.  Could you want more than that?" - (9 squares - reviews are graded out of ten!)
