The Zach Allen Band
Hi, I'm Zach Allen. I'm a rock guitarist, singer, and songwriter who currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee. Always having a desire to be a musician, I started my first band at the age of 10. Influenced by classic rock, I started playing around in my hometown of Gilroy, CA with my band. Around this time, I started writing music and by the time I was 11, I had written several songs. Searching for an outlet for my music, I found a website, Indieheaven, based in Nashville, TN that would host my music. Encouraged by this, my family and I traveled to Nashville to attend the Indieheaven CIA Summit in 2007 and eventually moved to Nashville later that year. After moving to Nashville, I continued to write music, play gigs around town, and hone my craft.
In 2012, I recorded and released my first full length album with producer Eric Copeland and Creative Soul Records and Grammy award winning engineer Bill Whittington titled "Matter of Time."
In January of 2015, my band and I went band into the studio with Copeland and Whittington to work on our sophomore EP "Prison Break." On May 29, 2015, Prison Break EP was released. The EP features myself on guitar and vocals, my brother, Christian Taylor, on drums, and my friend Christian Eason on bass. My mission and music share the message of God's grace, mercy, and love in a relevant way. So many are broken and need to know that even when the world is cold and dark, someone still cares. I wants to show people through music, that this "someone" is God and through His son Jesus Christ, there is hope and they are made new and no longer broken.
I am currently in my senior year at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville studying commercial music. In addition to my own band, I play with many different groups on campus, including the top jazz fusion ensemble. Since beginning college, I have been influenced by many different genres, studying everyone from Eric Johnson, Mike Stern, John Pertucci and Mark Tremonti to Brad Paisley, Brent Mason, and Johnny Hiland. My goal is to take this wide musical knowledge and love of many genres and bring a fresh and interesting twist to hard rock. I am currently in the process of writing new music and hope to bring my band to your area soon.
